Our Story

Monthly Review Press is the book publishing wing of the socialist magazine Monthly Review. In 1952, a few years after the magazine’s founding in New York City, the Press published its first title, I. F. Stone’s Hidden History of the Korean War. In the decades since, we have released books that express a critical but spirited socialism, independent of any political organization.
